Mahbub Alom Shuhag is a young entrepreneur, national award-winning former student leader, higher education professional and mental health advocate, based in London.
He graduated from Coventry University with a First Class BA in Global Business Management (Entrepreneurship) in April 2024, ranked first in a cohort of over 150 from first year through graduation, earning him the Highest Achievers Award, a place on the Dean's List and the title of Valedictorian for the Class of 2024.
Alongside his studies, he ran for the Students' Union election and campaigned for and was elected student leader three times in a row, each by a large margin, representing the student voice on the decision-making board of the Students' Union, a multi million pound charity, and on the university's executive and leadership team.
In March 2024, he was one of three students invited to a national roundtable with HRH Princess Beatrice on student mental health, organised by Chegg, Student Minds, the Mental Health Foundation and Big Change. His impactful work in student mental health and representation across UK higher education and beyond later led to the National Student Partnership Impact Award from SEDA and JISC.
Since graduating, he has been leading multi-million-pound properties and accommodation projects across multiple campuses for Coventry University Group.
In July 2026, he joined the European Innovation Academy as a fully funded European Entrepreneurship Award recipient, one of more than 25 startups selected from over 40 countries, among more than 75 young entrepreneurs. Over a three-week programme mentored by Silicon Valley, Google, Bayes Business School and faculty linked to Stanford and Berkeley, he built an AI-powered compliance tool to protect students and save the millions of pounds they lose every year, taking it from idea to MVP and an investor-ready pitch in 15 days. That's now his venture, an AI compliance product giving UK universities early visibility into student rental scam risk before it becomes a Sponsor Licence failure.
